Bloomfield is centrally located in Pittsburgh, minutes away by vehicle (and often just a few more by bike or on foot) from many of the city's highlights: trendy restaurants and bars, universities, stadiums, the Strip District and Cultural District, and the Convention Center. Its colorful mix of shops and restaurants attracts thousands of visitors from other neighborhoods throughout the city. Bloomfield is also known as Pittsburgh's "Little Italy," with Italian roots that date back five generations or more.
It's a place with wide sidewalks, an old-fashioned barbershop, and a bocce league. In winter, neighbors rendezvous at any number of warm pubs, and in summer, residents can spend entire afternoons sipping cappuccino on the sidewalk. Like so many great, thriving neighborhoods in Pittsburgh, you'll find much to offer in both the old and the new, making it an exciting time to be a Bloomfield resident.
